Before You Register, READ THIS!

It can be a lot of fun to register, but it can also be A LOT! I registered at Bloomingdale’s, Bed Bath & Beyond & Crate & Barrel. Not everyone tells you how exhausting and difficult it can be, but here are some tips that will prepare you, before you zap your guns!

  • SIGN UP BEFORE YOU GO

    • There is paperwork to fill out when you register. Save time and do it online, before you go. That way, you can get started sooner.

  • GET THE FIRST APPOINTMENT OF THE DAY

    • Listen, this is not a 2 hour day; this could be 6 hours of your Saturday! Getting the first appointment means, getting done earlier and having less people in the store. It get’s crazy, trust me! Also, you want to work with someone that day, that is fresh and ready to be his or her best for you.

  • LOOK ONLINE AND SEE WHAT YOU BOTH LIKE BEFORE YOU GO

    • Why not get an idea, of both of your tastes beforehand? You want to go in knowing what you both like, color wise and more. You don’t want to be surprised that your future wife or husband, does not like what you do. Eek!

  • WEAR COMFY SHOES AND BRING WATER

    • Your feet will hurt, you will get thirsty!

  • BRING SOMEONE WHO COOKS OR ENTERTAINS A LOT

    • There are a ton of things you may not know to register for. If you know someone that cooks and entertains a lot, you should ask him or her to come with you. If I did not bring my sister, I would have never registered for 4 different types of platters and 8 different size cooking pans. But trust me, you NEED THEM!

  • DON’T OVER REGISTER!

    • You are not going to get everything on your registry, so pick the things you really want and need. Bloomingdale’s will give you 20% off your registry items, after you get married, btw. Other places offer great ways to snatch up the rest of your items, as well.

  • KEEP YOUR REGISTRY PRIVATE, UNTIL YOU HAVE COMPLETELY FINISHED!

    • The bottom line is, Bed Bath & Beyond offers 20% off coupons all the time. That is great for your guests!. So, if you registered for a Breville Smart Oven Air (which you should def do!), at Bloomies, then see they have the same one at BB&B, just take it off Bloomies and leave it on BB&B. When you have finally completed your registries, go online and edit, as needed. Then share and watch the presents roll in!

  • REGISTER LOW AND HIGH!

    • Make sure you have registered at a low and high price range. Some people will want to bundle gifts, some people will chip in for larger ones. Keep all budgets in mind.

  • BE NICE TO THE PERSON HELPING YOU REGISTER!

    • First of all, duh! But second, you may get something special at the end of the day. I lived for my women at Bloomingdale’s, she was beyond helpful. I appreciated her every second. At the end of our day, she gave me a beautiful Kate Spade decorative bowl. It just pays to be nice.

  • HAVE FUN!!!!

    • This really is so much fun! Enjoy and don’t stress. Remember to take in every second of the journey, because it will go very fast!

GOLOVE & GO REGISTER!!!

WELCOME TO THE WEDFLUENCER

Dear Reader,

First, if you are engaged, mazel! It is really such an exciting time for you! If you are just looking for advice on events, amazing, you came to the right place! A bit about me, I have been in the events industry for over 18 years. I finally became engaged on February 3rd, 2018 and boy did I think I had this planning thing down! I was counting on being excited and nervous, but I never expected to be so overwhelmed, confused and frustrated. There is just too much information out there and it can make you feel lost. I am here to lift the “veil” of the weddings industry, in hopes to help brides, grooms or anyone who is interested in planning events. You should have more fun than stress and I want to do that, through real advice, unique tips and humor (I was once as stand up comedian, so why not.)

SO LE’TS GOLOVE AND GO HAVE SOME FUN!
